The Inflation Reduction Act gives clean energy developers a tax credit if they site projects in places where coal, oil, and natural gas play an outsized role in the local economy. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was passed this summer, expanded the tax credit so that “nuclear energy communities” can also benefit from clean energy development.
