Learning About Earth from Space: New RFF Podcast on the Value of Data from Satellites

In this podcast, RFF Fellow Yusuke Kuwayama talks about his research on water scarcity using data collected from satellites.

He also discusses other spectral information that can be collected by observing Earth from space and how this information informs both simple, everyday choices (such as whether to carry an umbrella to work) as well as more complex determinations, like how to protect communities against natural disasters.

Earth Observation Consortium

The socioeconomic benefits of this Earth observation data are the focus of a new cooperative agreement between RFF and NASA: The Consortium for the Valuation of Applications Benefits Linked with Earth Science (VALUABLES).

Kuwayama and RFF Deputy Director for Government and Public Affairs Shannon Wulf Tregar lead the consortium.
